Presbyterian Women

Presbyterian Women of Boulevard Presbyterian Church (PW/BPC) programs for women include a monthly general meeting or “gathering”, a monthly bible study, small groups called “circles”, and quilting and prayer shawl knitting groups. The monthly gatherings offer programs that feed both the mind and spirit, including mission-oriented community speakers, music programs, and much more. The women’s “circles” meet monthly at different times (some during the day, others at night) for fellowship, Bible study, and service projects. They also attend regional events held for all Presbyterian Women from area churches.

The monthly gatherings start with a delicious lunch (usually at a cost of $5.00) prepared by one of the circles or catered, followed by a program. This year, the programs and speakers have covered a wide variety of topics including the Kairos ministry, Women in Politics, Buckhorn of Ohio, and an English Tea, just to name a few.

Presbyterian Women support national and worldwide mission projects through pledges and donations to the Thank Offering, Birthday Offering, and Least Coin Offering. The group supports local community missions such as Church Women United and Buckhorn of Ohio. They also support programs of Boulevard Church, such as Vacation Bible School and Christmas Baskets.

Members of Presbyterian Women are committed to nurturing faith through prayer and Bible study; to support the mission of the Church worldwide; to work for justice and peace; and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s Kingdom.

Participants
All women, both members and guests, are welcome to become actively engaged in the meetings and projects of the group. Women who are members of Boulevard Presbyterian Church are automatically members of Presbyterian Women.

Meeting Times
A program brochure gives information about each of these groups as well as a schedule of gatherings and programs.
The monthly gathering is a luncheon and program held in the Fellowship Hall, on the first Thursday of the month, Sept. – Dec. and March – June, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The co-ordinating team (officers) meet in the church lounge before the gathering at 10 a.m. Circles and groups meet in Room 111.

To attend the monthly gathering, please contact Ginny Achterman at (614) 755-0658 to make a reservation, so that they can have an accurate count of the number of lunches to prepare.
